Stories from the way.

"I walked the last 100km of the Camino Francés solo at 58. WayPilgrim handled every detail — the hotels, the luggage transfers, the maps. I just had to walk. It was the most transformative week of my life."

Margaret S. Dublin, Ireland — Camino Francés

"We did the St. Olav's Way as a couple for our anniversary. The route was incredible — we barely saw another pilgrim for days. WayPilgrim found us the most beautiful guesthouses. Norway stole our hearts."

Thomas & Anne R. Hamburg, Germany — St. Olav's Way

"After a difficult year, I needed something to reset. WayPilgrim understood exactly what I was looking for — not a tourist trip, but a real journey. The Camino gave me exactly that."

Carlos M. Madrid, Spain — Camino Portugués
"The Camino does not begin at Saint-Jean Pied de Port.
It begins the moment you decide to go."

Questions we hear
most often.

Do I need to be very fit to do a pilgrimage?

Not at all. We design journeys for all fitness levels — from gentle 10km days on flat terrain to full mountain routes. During your profile quiz, you tell us your level and we build the itinerary around it. Many of our pilgrims are over 60 and had never done a multi-day walk before.

What's included in the price?

Every WayPilgrim journey includes: accommodation (your choice of albergue, hotel or boutique), daily luggage transfers so you only carry a daypack, detailed route maps and guides, 24/7 emergency support, and a pre-departure briefing. Flights and travel insurance are not included.

Can I customise the route and pace?

That's exactly what we do. No two WayPilgrim journeys are identical. You choose how many kilometres per day, where to stay, which sections to walk and which to skip, and whether you want rest days. We build it all around your preferences.

How far in advance do I need to book?

We recommend booking at least 6–8 weeks ahead, especially for summer months (June–August) when accommodation fills quickly. For shoulder season (April–May, September–October) 3–4 weeks is usually enough. We can sometimes arrange last-minute trips — just ask.

Is the St. Olav's Way very different from the Camino de Santiago?

Yes, quite different — and that's part of its appeal. The Camino de Santiago is warmer, more social and very well-established with thousands of pilgrims. St. Olav's Way is quieter, wilder and more remote — fewer pilgrims, dramatic Nordic landscapes and a very different atmosphere. Both are deeply moving in their own way.
